Hebrews: Faith of Moses

“Faith is the language of our souls, it is the native tongue of our new life in Christ, the culture of heaven saturating our earthly existence”

“22You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23But a time is coming and has now come when the TRUE worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23

“He was despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief; And like One from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or esteem Him.” Isaiah 53:3

Total humble dedication is what any soul that truly seeks God’s will and only wants to be His humble servant not a crony of this “Ways of The World Beast System” that is riddled and permeated with the sins of the Evil One; of flesh, the eyes, pride, lust, greed, hate and wanton destruction of all that is good in the Eyes of God!

Solemn Dedication by all the “true of heart” that wish to be a vessel of Godly Spirit, being born of the Spirit and not of any worldly plans, but, only allowing oneself to be in union with the Almighty’s Spirit fulfilling God’s plans and purposes; hearing His voice! God does have a voice and His own can hear Him calling them. just like the Master and Good Shepherd of the flock knows His own, they know Him and hear His voice clearly.

“The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.” John 14:17

“Such a profound and permanent alteration is going to be visible to others—it is impossible to be otherwise.

Having shown how the entire trajectory of the Hebrew people was set on course by the faith of their forefathers the patriarchs, the writer now turned to the faith of their greatest leader.”

But conversely today the multitudes do not see in this way and the most profound obvious Truth is not seen or in many instances is rather ignored and despised!

“The breathtaking tale of Miriam’s watchful care over her baby brother”

Sanctified by Faith
“Over the course of thirty-five years, after he had been weaned by his mother Jochebed and brought to live in the palace, Moses was raised as a prince of Egypt.”

“Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in his words and deeds.”
Acts 7:22 (NRSV)

A great example of being in the world but not of it and living in accordance with the Father’s will in all of His actions and desires!

Moses nurtured by Miriam from infancy to become the integral part of the Father’s plan for the coming of the Messiah who would bring the good news and New Everlasting Covenant to God’s people. The Savior who would come to claim His own given to Him by the Father was directly facilitated by Moses being the one to prepare the people and Moses who was initially nurtured and protected by Miriam so he in turn initiated what followed in God’s plan!

“Moses’ parents had raised him as Hebrew, and no doubt told him about God, of God’s promises to Abraham, and his descendants, about God’s prophecy of redemption and freedom, and that this time was approaching.
They must have reminded Moses that he was no ordinary child, that he was pleasing to God, perhaps suggesting that Moses might be the very one who would raise up God’s people and free them from slavery.”

Later when Moses had his full and everlasting epiphany he was now prepared for his destiny and full service to God!

“He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his kinsfolk.
Exodus 2:11 (NRSV)

“The Hebrew word here implies the Egyptian officer was beating this Hebrew slave to death.
And it is undoubtedly at this precise moment that all the pieces of his life, the longing in his heart, his unusual beginnings and unique upbringing, all fell into place for Moses; the vivid scene of an Egyptian taskmaster beating a Hebrew slave to death, one of Moses’ own people, and all the emotions that evoked—the righteous anger, a sense of abused justice, taking that beating personally, overflowing compassion.”

Though Moses made some errors as all men do he ultimately was the chosen one to be that pivotal entry point by which; “[1] Christians of every background continued to celebrate Passover in the first century church, commemorating Jesus’ fulfillment of that Exodus by opening the way of freedom from sin, corruption, and death, and into the promise of eternal life with God.”
Amen.
God bless you.

The writer of Hebrews wanted his readers to understand how deeply faith affects all of life. It is not merely something we feel in our hearts, or we talk about. It is an entire way of being, a love and a hope that permeates every aspect of our personality, character, worldview, life philosophy, priorities, decisions, choices, work, play, relationships . . . everything.

Faith is the language of our souls, it is the native tongue of our new life in Christ, the culture of heaven saturating our earthly existence.

Such a profound and permanent alteration is going to be visible to others—it is impossible to be otherwise.

Having shown how the entire trajectory of the Hebrew people was set on course by the faith of their forefathers the patriarchs, the writer now turned to the faith of their greatest leader.
