The Mantra of Every Faithful Servant

“Not my will but Your will be done, my Lord. Show me where You want me to go, teach me what You want me to do so that I may bring glory to Your name and the little lost sheep to Your flock. This is the mantra of every faithful servant of Christ. Joseph- Anthony a son of Jehovah”

That excerpt stands out boldly to me because just yesterday during a conversation with one of my sisters about our faith in Jesus Christ and some of our dearly departed family members I mentioned what Billy Graham’s final perspective was about his life on earth; being about serving the Lord!

“I hope I will be remembered as someone who was faithful—faithful to God, faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and faithful to the calling God gave me not only as an evangelist, but as a husband, father and friend.

I’m sure I’ve failed in many ways, but I take comfort in Christ’s promise of forgiveness, and I take comfort also in God’s ability to take even our most imperfect efforts and use them for His glory.

By the time you read this, I will be in heaven, and as I write this I’m looking forward with great anticipation to the day when I will be in God’s presence forever.

I’m convinced that heaven is far more glorious than anything we can possibly imagine right now, and I look forward not only to its wonder and peace, but also to the joy of being reunited with those who have gone there before me, especially my dear wife, Ruth. The Bible says, “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face” (1 Corinthians 13:12). billygraham.org

I agree and there is no greater or more important thing we can strive to accomplish in this short life than to “truly love and serve God!”

This scripture should be what we yearn in our hearts to hear from our Lord when we meet Him!

“Well done, my good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” (Matthew 25:23)

And we will if we follow this prescription given to us by God’s word!

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27

God bless you and a blessed Easter to you and yours!

Amended: 4/15/22 – Today after posing this message on Good Friday I found that at the bottom of the page without any control by me, one of the suggested postings which stands out to me now is the 3rd offering; which was a very important message that I had written on April 10, 2020 on that Good Friday as being a most unprecedented time, and it was an inspired message I needed to share!  Though it is listed I add this special note about it because I believe it has great significance right now too! I hope you will gain something in your heart from reading it. God bless. Amen.

  1. Oh yes you do my Brother Joseph…I would have pretty much assumed that from your perspective, sincere words and travels over the years! He did say it best, and by doing and living it that he, you, me and anyone who does is following Jesus Christ as He instructed His disciples and the Church or flock! Let’s face it if we are sincerely doing this we cannot fail, because as Billy Graham said though he “knows he failed in many ways; but I take comfort in Christ’s promise of forgiveness, and I take comfort also in God’s ability to take even our most imperfect efforts and use them for His glory.”

And I say this Scripture that Jesus spoke to His disciples before His passion says it all, proving Billy Graham and any of us who believe can rest assured of the promise in these words from God!

“25When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

As far as families go on earth these days so many are broken, scattered or none existent, because so many destructive forces have been doing harm to them making a very dysfunctional lot; it’s nothing like it used to be a couple few generations back, when families were paramount! Back when gatherings had second and third cousins even attending one or another joyous occasion. Now it’s cliques or isolation; not what God intended at all! I too have no children and would be a good dad and husband, but, then it’s all in God’s hands isn’t it after all; and our real everlasting family awaits in heaven, so there is so much to look forward to especially hat added bonus for those of us; that have been given this service as I see it!

I see also in what Billy Graham said, how we have to face the reality that nobody gets anywhere near perfection here; so actual fulfillment is yet to come, that is paradise; which awaits God’s faithful. Amen.
    God bless you!

An added note and I know you can relate to this; I just moved a nine foot tree to its new better location, and using a shovel along with a pry bar it was real bull work! Glad to do it though because it had to be done and I want to give it a chance to flourish! I bet God sees some of us that way; doesn’t He! Yes if we get top our best final location that we can finally call home; that’s cool!
Then I just saw a cedar tree that had some snapped lower limbs that I know were intentionally broken by reckless unappreciative juveniles; causing such damage to something that took many years to be shaped and formed! Just like we see happening to people in the world now with all the wicked destruction being inflicted on God’s flock! We must pray; times are sick and horrid now! End time man’s love would wane with so many hearts growing cold; that is the word of God!
